My wife and I just finished spending a few days camping there and wanted to recount our experience.

If you are looking for concrete pads and wifi, this ain't the place for you. If you like a quiet place where the winds woosh thru the pine trees, this is the place. Friendly camp host.
We never write reviews but just had to as this place was fabulous. My wife and I have religiously been going camping twice a year for years (once in march and once in october) and we NEVER go back to the same place.. that is until now.. we plan on going back next month!
Well,... I reserved a cabin for two nights, but only ended up staying about 4 hours. It was a waste! Won't ever go there again.
When we first arrived there we were a little wary , as Dora put us right next to some RVS that were parked there ( we have a tent) but since the RVs were unoccupied, we were never bothered nor harassed the rest of the time that we camped. My wife and I are semi private low key people who come to camp and relax with nature. we are not party people so the constant bothering we usually get by the camp host is really not desired nor needed. Not at Indian springs! We were never bothered again after our check in and Ron was kind enough to say Hi and see how we were doing and even give us some helpful tips. The bathrooms were clean, the water in the showers was hot with great pressure and the atmosphere was awesome! The Big Thicket park was literally 5 minutes away so we were able to tackle the trails there daily and make it back to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of Indian Springs when we were done! Go visit Indian Springs Cam;pground! You will be glad you did. (Our trip was during the week, not the weekend.)
This park reminds us of Texas State Parks......no frills, just quiet woodsy camping. I'm sure that once the camp recovers from Hurricane Harvey it will be nicer. It is kind of hard to find in the dark but we did make it there with the help of Ron.
Quiet no frills campsite. Friendly people and off the beaten path.
