Quiet getaway!
So loved our getaway to Etheridge Farms. We wanted romance and relaxation and found it in this oasis in the big thicket just a short drive east from Houston. We knew we had made a great find as our drive down the driveway broke through the trees to see the property with the main lodge and cabins. When we pulled up to the lodge we were met with a warm greeting and beautiful smile of the owner/ chef/bookkeeper/ manager Ann Etheridge who is the heart of Etheridge Farms. You really get a sense that Etheridge Farms has been a a labor of love created by the Etheridge's everywhere throughout the entire property. Each of the three cabins has it's own charm and warmth that envelops you as you enter. The country breakfasts made by Ann are all fresh ingredients including the many fruits from the abundant types of fruit trees on the property. Jams and jellies are made and available seasonally. Grab some while you are there because people come for miles to buy them. Dinner is also available and Ann has some amazing tried and true dishes that she has developed over the years that are sure to please the most discerning palate. Did I mention the bread pudding is to die for?

Absolutely amazing! This place is beautiful. It's a tranquil place and offers a very relaxing atmosphere. We stayed the weekend in the Mayhaw Ridge cabin. It's cozy and just right for a couple needing a getaway. (Make sure you try the outside shower. It's awesome.) Mrs. Ann was so accommodating and just so sweet. Her cooking is divine. She made us a candle lit dinner and it was perfect. We will definitely be returning. We loved it!!
